Port Pascagoula (Jackson County Port Authority) is searching for a dynamic leader to assume the top executive leadership role of the Port. Port Pascagoula is a major deepwater port on the MS Gulf Coast which is comprised of both public and private marine terminals as well as a significant shipbuilding presence. Roles of the Port include operation and management of public cargo terminals, sponsorship and management of channels and waterways, support of private industries located within the port, and economic development through the ownership of industrial parks and industrial support facilities. The Port Director reports to a nine-member Board of Commissioners and is responsible for a staff of 45.
Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior maritime management role with broad functional and operational responsibilities.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required, preferably in business administration, economics, transportation, law, logistics or maritime-related discipline. An MBA or other advanced degree is considered a strong advantage.
Candidates must have a valid passport plus possessing the ability and willingness to travel.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain a TSA TWIC Card.
Permanent full-time residency in Jackson County, Mississippi, is required.
Port Pascagoula, located on the southeastern coast of Mississippi, is a full-service deep-water port with modern facilities for handling cargo from around the world. The Port’s two harbors (Pascagoula River & Bayou Casotte) include a combination of public and private terminals handling a combined 32 million tons of cargo through its channels annually. Port Pascagoula currently ranks nationally in the top 30 ports in the United States and number one in Mississippi for total gross tonnage.
