The Position:
Port Panama City Florida, USA is seeking a strategic leader to drive growth, diversify cargo activity, and shape the future of global trade in Northwest Florida. As the Deputy Director of Trade Development, you will champion the Port’s capabilities, develop new cargo opportunities through our marine terminals, and lead trade initiatives that connect regional and global supply chains. You will leverage the Port’s ocean, waterway, and inland networks to create innovative solutions for breakbulk, bulk, and containerized cargoes.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive growth and diversification of the Port’s cargo and trade opportunities
Build and nurture strategic relationships with customers, on-port tenants, and inland transportation providers
Lead high-performing teams and foster a collaborative results-driven culture
Shape trade development strategy through budget planning, capital improvements, and market insights
Represent the Port with impact across the local, national, and global stage
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred in business administration, logistics, marketing, supply chain management, economics, or related field
Proven experience identifying, developing, and expanding cargo and trade opportunities, with an emphasis on domestic and international supply chains.
Prior experience in port and stevedoring operations preferred
Exceptional communication and relationship-building, with the ability to represent the Port effectively to stakeholders, partners, and industry peers.
Port Panama City is a vibrant hub for trade and industry, handling over 2 million tons of containerized, breakbulk, and bulk cargo through its two deep-water terminals annually.
