This position, under direct supervision of the Director of Communications, is responsible for all in-house graphic design work, videography (onsite and drone), and photography activities of the Port of Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA), as well as production support and distribution of press releases, talking points, content for internal and external media/communications publications, Web site, and e-communications outlets.
Responsible for designing and supporting production of publications relating to internal and external PCCA communications to include the monthly employee newsletter, annual community mailer, and the quarterly community newsletter
Generates content for the PCCA’s e-communications pages in the different social media outlets
Supports the optimization of the PCCA’s website and assists with internal design edits
Responsible for written communication to include letters, press releases and power-point presentations
Designs graphics for PowerPoint slide decks, slideshows, infographics, fact sheets, Web pages and PCCA social media
Maintains and organizes current photo and video archives
Creates and maintains a comprehensive news organization mailing list and media database
Communicates with department managers to assist in meeting their media/photography/videography needs
Serves as onsite presentation and event support for C-suite staff and Commission, as assigned by the Communications Director
Promotes the PCCA through social media campaigns, photography and story placements
Supports the Communications Department in the coordination of special projects and represents the PCCA in area activities when required
Works with other department personnel to fulfill department objectives
Performs functions in a thorough and professional manner, maintains an acceptable level of competence and professionalism
Adheres to PCCA Policy and maintains good employee relations
Drives vehicle as necessary to complete assigned tasks and works required hours/shifts necessary to fulfill PCCA Objectives
Performs other related duties as assigned
Tier 3 status designation
Remote work schedule negotiable
The preferred candidate for this position should be a nimble and self-directing individual with exceptional design skills and training. They must possess the following:
EDUCATION & CREDENTIALS
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Education and/or job training in graphic design
Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) during course of employment
Valid driver’s license
EXPERIENCE & JOB KNOWLEDGE
Demonstrated written and oral proficiency in the English language
Effective interpersonal, presentation, organizational, and time management skills
Strong writing, editing, and graphic communication skills; experience with photography, videography, and the production of videos
Ability to operate a personal computer and a variety of graphic computer programs, office equipment, audio/visual and photography equipment, and internet
Must deal effectively with the public and varying levels of management

Ability to perform essential job functions, including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking or hearing, typing and occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

Ability to operate light-weight highway vehicles and standard office equipment and to work the requisite hours to fulfill position objectives, including evenings and/or weekends, as needed
