This position reports to the Director of Facilities, Maintenance and is considered is a leadership role responsible for technical and administrative functions to ensure all Port Canaveral landside and waterside real estate owned by or for which the Port is otherwise held responsible for, is maintained at the highest level at all times to ensure effective operation, maintenance, safety and pleasure for all Port Canaveral stakeholders.
The manager will be primarily responsible for all areas of maintenance, repair and renovation of Port real estate assets and major repairs, renovations and other improvements as needed and in conjunction with the Capital Projects Manager.
This position also has a significant responsibility to build effective relationships with all stakeholders; to collaborate and effectively work with all customers (such as cruise lines and cove tenants), vendors and service providers to meet the joint needs of our partners and the Port Canaveral’s high standards of excellence. The Facilities Manager directs the team under their responsibility to assure that these clients are services efficiently and effectively.
Other responsibilities include oversight of custodial services, plant operations, construction, maintenance and repairs, engineering, and grounds keeping.
Bachelor’s degree in Operations management, Facilities management or general management or closely related field or the equivalent of education and experience.
Seven to ten years of verifiable managerial/supervisory experience in the facilities management field, preferably in a Port or campus-wide, guest or customer-oriented setting.
Demonstrated experience of a CMMS program in a like environment.
Strong organizational and management skills. Familiar with cost accounting and budgeting.
Thorough understanding of all aspects of plant management in an institutional environment or large organization.
