Working within an experienced and successful marketing and sales team distributed globally, the new Sales Director, Maritime Traffic Management will help to cultivate and deliver sales of Saab Maritime Traffic Management solutions to global customers. The Sales Director, Maritime Traffic Management (MTM) will work from the Vancouver office, serving maritime customers around the globe with advanced solutions for the safe and efficient movement of people and goods. Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Sales of MTM in the Netherlands, with a dotted line to the Vancouver-based Deputy, you will build and manage the sales pipeline, conduct demonstrations to teams of technical experts, prepare proposals, attend trade shows, support management of accounts, prepare reports and contribute to strategy. You will be part of an experienced Marketing and Sales team in MTM across several locations and countries, working in conjunction with the Saab Market Areas and other sales channels and interacting with our customers around the world. A moderate amount of national and international travel will be required. The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a junior to senior level complex-systems sales professional and will adjust the training plan to meet the experience and knowledge of the chosen candidate. Sales experience, ideally with a track record of a minimum of 5, preferably 10+ years developing and acquiring new orders for large and complicated deals that could include hardware, software and services in an international business environment. ? A proven track record of maritime sales or port management systems, would be an advantage, but not a requirement ? Knowledge of logistics planning, preferably within maritime transportation (ports and terminals), understanding of the maritime domain, with some commercial acumen of port operations or maritime traffic. You may have been a customer for complex solutions who can translate your valuable technical knowledge into selling solutions to other customers. ? A proven team player, always looking for the best solutions for your customers: you have an open mind and a strong work ethic, cooperating and sharing information in a team is your natural preference for high performance. ? Entrepreneurial in spirit, creative, understands relationship selling, and has a high degree of technical savvy. ? Analytical and strategic skills to identify and develop business, local partnerships and market network. ? Service-minded, flexible and able to work under pressure within tight deadlines and able to maintain high quality of service and responsiveness. ? Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills within a multi-cultural organization. ? Talented at presenting professional and compelling presentations, documents and proposals in fluent English; other languages (Spanish/French) are desirable.
