The Miami-Dade County Seaport Department is seeking a progressive, experienced and results-oriented Chief, Seaport Financial Performance and Strategic Management. The Chief will be an integral part of all future bond issues, capital deployment decisions, financial plans, funding, resource allocations business initiatives and Port development strategies. The Chief will be responsible for the development of new cargo agreements while retaining existing business, will also develop financial models with the end goal of negotiating competitive rate structures. The Chief will maintain and modify the Port’s pro-forma which will be used for all major financial decisions.
The Office of Chief Financial Performance and Strategic Management will be part of senior management assisting in the preparation of departmental annual operating budget and five year capital budgets. The ideal candidate will have experience with port strategies and will work across Seaport divisions to develop robust and sound programs. The Chief will oversee these programs from its inception through program execution and implementation. These programs will incorporate financial outcome, optimal asset use, customer service levels that retain business and enhance profitable growth, cost reductions and efficiencies.
A minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in the designing, implementing and managing of accounting and financial services programs and/or developing and monitoring departmental and capital budgets is required.
