About Port Corpus Christi: Port Corpus Christi is the fourth largest seaport in the United States in total tonnage (>100 million tons per year). The Port provides a straight and uncongested, 47 feet deep ship channel (currently being deepened to 54 feet) and quick access to the Gulf of Mexico and the entire United States inland waterway system via The Intracoastal Waterway. The Port delivers outstanding multimodal access to overland transportation throughout North America, with on-site and direct connections to three Class I railroads, BNSF, KCS, and UP, and direct, vessel-to-rail discharge and Ro-Ro capabilities. The Nueces River Rail Yard provides eight railroad tracks for storage of unit trains up to 8,500 feet long. The Port is executing a 10-year capital improvement plan of more than $1 Billion in new infrastructure to support $50 Billion of regional investments by port related industries. While Port Corpus Christi is the #1 port for export of US crude oil and the leading port for Wind Turbine cargo, there is significant room to grow.
